Nagaland Government has decided to deliver pen drives with study material from classes 5 to 12 from the state’s rural areas with poor network connectivity for the students. The two phases of online education have been completed since the schools were closed in the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic according to government officials reports. The pen drives will include the syllabus covered during online classes held since May 01, 2020, according to Shanavas C Principal Director of School Education.
Online Classes From August 08, 2020
The Department of Education has also requested rural teachers to assist the students in their studies, as they face problems accessing online classes. Starting on August 18, 2020, the third phase of online classes for the students is scheduled. This has also been told that through the department portal – dosenl.in private schools may also place their orders for pen drives. Private schools would have to pay a sum ranging from Rs. 350 to Rs, 850 for a dispensing pen drive on the syllabus included in them. The department of state education has advised the teachers to periodically distribute the notes and worksheets to the students of the lower classes to ensure consistency in their education. According to recent reports, all educational institutions in the state will remain closed until August 31, 2020.
E-Study Material for Rural Residents
Students from urban areas such as Dimapur and Kohima can access online facilities but those living in the state’s rural areas face network issues which is why the pen drives have been filled with the study materials that will be distributed from classes 5 to 12 to these students.
